ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE !

The Pre-Kindergarten children might be very small, but they have big hearts and already know quite a bit about love !

According to them, they love their bentos and a variety of food, they love many different animals, they love their classmates and teachers and of course they love their families! They express this verbally (in English or with the Japanese “Daisuki”) and / or through a very affectionate and caring attitude towards others.

As our current unit centers around “Animals and Food”, the children have learnt that many animals eat different fruit like apples, pears, bananas, oranges etc.

The children were eager to try some water colouring and draw some of the fruit they (and the horses and elephants’) loved so much. Well, it proved to be quite a tricky affair !

The brushes were adequate for little hands, but it was not so easy to get the right amount of water, the right amount of colour and spend the right amount of time “watering” the paper.

The art was left to dry and on another day, we talked about what we could do with the paintings. How about making beautiful Valentine’s cards for the family ?

Surprisingly, the children knew about St.Valentine, probably due to the fact that there are so many SWEET displays around owning to the big community of foreign chocolate manufacturers in Japan, especially Kobe.

So the children set about to make some beautiful Valentine cards for their families, using all their fine motor skills (drawing, tracing, colouring, cutting, pasting, folding ...), their imagination, their favourite colours and their stickers and

lots of love !
