Spring is in the air - all about growth!

Spring is the season where we all can feel a burst of energy and see nature grow and blossom after a long winter.

The Pre-KG children have also grown a lot since the beginning of the school year - they have acquired many new skills and have become confident learners and communicators.

It is also heartwarming to see that they are forming friendships and are very welcoming to new friends arriving in class.

The children have been observing the changes in nature and started the off week by making flowers, tulips, stems, small trees, snakes and rabbits with playdough.

They went to admire the tulips at the nearby tulip field, first by themselves, then with all of the Early Years children and teachers. We had some great photo opportunities with the beautiful tulips, also with siblings !

Some of children remembered having planted the tulip at the end of autumn, so it gave them a good idea about life cycles!

The class made some colourful origami tulips and, as it is Easter, we also coloured some paper eggs, with eggs being a symbol for new life. Next week we will have a little Easter celebration and treat hunt, so the Pre-KG children decorated some baskets as well.

They were very specific about what the basket should look like and incorporated some animals they had learnt about in the current unit.

There was a lot of excitement in the air this week, especially because we also had a new friend join our class !

Welcome to Pre-KG, Gloria!

We are looking forward to many sunny days in spring!
